Fulbright Scholarships

The Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry in the School of English is very excited to offer two Fulbright Awards for Distinguised Scholars to commence in 2011.  The Awards are for a Distinguished Scholar in Creative Writing and a Distinguished Scholar in Anglophone Irish Writing and offer a residency of 6 months in each case.  

The first scholars to hold these posts were announced in May 2010.  They are both distinguished poet-scholars from the USA Donald Bogen, long-time editor of The Cincinnati Review, and Rebecca Black, who has just taken up the position of Director of Creative Writing at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro , have just been announced as the Fulbright Award winners at Queen’s.
