The Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry in the School of English is very excited to offer two Fulbright Awards for Distinguised Scholars to commence in 2011.  The Awards are for a Distinguished Scholar in Creative Writing and a Distinguished Scholar in Anglophone Irish Writing and offer a residency of 6 months in each case.  

The first scholars to hold these posts were announced in May 2010.  They are both distinguished poet-scholars from the USA .  Donald Bogen, long-time editor of The Cincinnati Review, and Rebecca Black, who has just taken up the position of Director of Creative Writing at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro , have just been announced as the Fulbright Award winners at Queen’s.
