At The Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry   

The Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry Summer School will take place from Monday 19th July to Friday 23rd July and the draft programme for the Summer School is available below. The Summer School is designed to further interests in creative writing and/or the study of contemporary literature. Speakers and tutors include:

Ciaran Carson, Leontia Flynn, Sinéad Morrissey, Ian Sansom, Eamonn Hughes,
Ed Larrissy, Fran Brearton and Gerald Dawe


Also on the Thursday evening of the Summer School there is a public event.
'An Evening of Poetry and Song', with Ciaran and Deidre Carson (flute, fiddle and poems), Leontia Flynn (poems), Sinead Morrissey (poems), Padraigin Ni Uallachain and Helen Davis (songs and harp).
Thursday 22 July, Harty Room, QUB, 7pm.

Places are available on a first come first served basis. The registration fee also includes evening receptions, a Belfast tour, and a poetry reading & concert. For further information, please contact Caroline Crothers on caroline.crothers@qub.ac.uk.

Travel Bursary 

The School of English is pleased to be able to offer three international (Non EU) bursaries worth £200 each to assist with travel to and participation in the 2010 Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry Summer School.  If you would like to be considered for a bursary, please complete and submit this form (below) by 31 May 2010 to Caroline Crothers, School of English, Queen’s University, Belfast BT7 1NN, Northern Ireland.
