Tissue Core Technology Unit

The Tissue Core Technology Unit (CTU) was established in 2005 to provide a centralised specialist research resource for the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, NHS personnel and beyond. It delivers excellence in tissue-based aspects of research, training and clinical service. (mission statement)

State-of-the-art equipment provides the latest technology in tissue processing, sectioning, staining and mounting. Highly specialised techniques such as laser microscopic dissection and tissue micro array (TMA) preparation are also offered by the staff of the Tissue CTU.

Expert advice on costings prior to grant submission is available within the CTU as is guidance on compliance with the Human Tissue Act & Human Tissue Authority, governance and COREC applications.
