Professional Practice and Practical Experience Certificate – Part III


Aim

This course provides exemption from the Royal Institute of British Architects Final Examination Part III and is recognised by the Architects' Registration Board for the UK for the purposes of registration under the Acts. The course will provide candidates with an appropriate awareness and knowledge of the core professional skills required to practise as an architect in the UK.

1 year part-time.

Course Content

Business Management in the context of Architecture
Contract Forms

Contractual Practice and forms of Procurement
Project Management and Cost Control

Regulatory Control systems in the context of the UK Construction Sector
The Architectural Profession, Professionalism and Codes of Conduct

Assessment

Practical training record in conformance with the RIBA PEDR system; two written examination papers; practice based case study; professional CV and personal evaluation and oral examination. Candidates must pass all of the elements to the satisfaction of the examiners in order to qualify. A certificate will be issued to successful candidates.
