Special Notes for International Applicants

Information for international students

All candidates whose first language is not English, including those who have studied in English, will be required to provide documentary evidence of their competence in English. The University accepts a range of qualifications such as the British Council IELTS test or TOEFL but other qualifications may be considered. If in doubt guidance should be sought from the Admissions Office. The minimum acceptable scores are: IELTS 6.0 and TOEFL 550 (213 cbt).

Candidates who do not meet these requirements may take a pre-sessional course in the University's English Language Unit before commencing their academic studies. These courses vary in duration and details are available from the ELU website. Candidates are still required to obtain a formal qualification, e.g. IELTS, before commencing the taught postgraduate course.
