- Semiconductor carriers – electrons and holes, intrinsic and extrinsic materials
- Carrier modelling, carrier concentrations
- Carrier action – diffusion, drift, recombination/generation
- Semiconductor devices – diode fabrication and operation, MOS transistor fabrication and operation properties
- Boolean algebra, logic gates, function minimisation, Karnaugh maps
- Combinational logic, NAND/NOR implementations, MSI functions, sequential logic
- Diode and transistor characteristics, diode circuits
- D.C. analysis of BJT circuits, bias stabilisation
- Operational amplifiers
