Course Contents
- Operational amplifiers: Basic operation, models, active Filters, non-linear operation, oscillators and waveform generators, differential amplifier
- Semiconductor diode: diode models, circuit analysis techniques, snubber circuit, DC power supplies
- Bipolar transistor: common configuration and basic equations, large/small signal model, amplifiers, constant current source, regulated dc power supply, bias circuits, frequency response
- Field effect transistor: structure and operation, models, amplifiers, frequency response
- Differential amplifier

Learning Outcomes
After the completion of this module you will be able to:
- Have a strong grasp on the fundamental concepts and techniques pertaining to analogue circuit design
- Understand the fundamental concepts associated with, and solve problems using operational amplifiers, diodes.
- Perform small (ac bias) and large signal analysis (dc bias) of circuits with bipolar junction transistors
- Design DC current sources
- Design amplifiers using BJTs and FETs
- Calculate frequency response of circuits with transistors
