Course Contents

  • Design of digital filters, infinite impulse response (IIR) filters, finite impulse response (FIR) filters, truncation and windowing.
  • Discrete Fourier transform (DFT), fast Fourier transform (FFT), spectral analysis, fast convolution, overlap-add and overlap-save.
  • Random signal analysis, estimation theory, the Wiener filter, adaptive algorithms, recursive least squares, stochastic gradient algorithms.
  • Applications in audio, telecommunication and system identification.

Digital Signal Processing is a core technology which underpins developments in a broad range of applications. The major emphasis of this course is to provide a set of examples demonstrating the design of efficient signal processing algorithms.
