Course Contents

Introduction to III-V semiconductors; GaAs MESFET fabrication & operation; high electron mobility transistors; heterojunction bipolar transistors in III-V and Si-based technologies; optical properties of semiconductors; structure and operation of light emitting devices, eg semiconductor lasers, LED's; structure and operation of light activated devices, eg photodiodes, solar cells.
