FOR NEW STUDENTS

WELCOME AND INDUCTION PROGRAMME (New Students)

Level 1 Students

  • All Level 1 students are expected to attend the School’s Welcome and Induction Programme at which you will be given information about Enrolment & Registration and your academic timetable.
  • The programme runs between Monday 23rd September and Friday 27th September.
  • A copy of the timetable is available by clicking one of the following link (please note that all students have been allocated to one of three groups depending on their degree programme.
  • The three groups are:

Group 1 (Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Software and Electronic Systems Engineering and Business Information Technology) Download timetable

Direct Entry Students Level 2

  • Although Direct entry students are not required to attend the Welcome and Induction Programme, they are more than welcome to attend if they wish.
  • A special induction event for Level 2 Direct Entry students will be held at 5pm on Tuesday 24th September in the Bernard Crossland Building.

International Students

  • A special induction event for International Students (level 1, 2 and 3) will be held at 1.00pm on Friday 27th September in the Bernard Crossland Building.  However, we would still encourage all level 1 International Students to attend the first session of Welcome Week on Monday 23rd September.

 

ENROLMENT AND REGISTRATION

Before you commence your studies you must complete Enrolment and Registration using the online Registration Wizard. The Wizard will be available to all Undergraduate students from 16th September for all Postgraduate students from 18th September.  The Registration Wizard will guide you through the process of Enrolment and Registration and will include online help on how to complete the various stages.  Please note that you must complete all 10 steps of the Registration Wizard before the first day of term/semester.

N.B. You MUST complete all 10 steps of the Registration Wizard before the first day of term/semester or in full by 4 October.  If you have not enrolled by 29 October you will be withdrawn from the University and a re-admittance fee charged should you wish to enrol after that date.  It is imperative you contact us prior to 4 October if you have extenuating circumstances that will prevent you from completing registration on time +44 (0) 28 9097 4669.

 For students entering Level 1 (excluding BIT)

  • You will already have been enrolled onto all of your modules by the School.
  • You will be required to complete the rest of enrolment and registration by no later than the 4th October 2013.
  • Please ensure that you bring all the information requested of you by the University to complete the finance and matriculation sections of enrolment and registration.

 For students entering Level 1 Business Information Technology

  • You will already have been on the Computer Science modules by the School but you are still required to enrol yourself on the following Management modules:

MGT1006 History and Philosophy of Management

MGT1010 Information and Organisations

ACC1002 Accounting for non-specialists

  • You will be required to complete the rest of enrolment and registration by no later than the 4th October 2013.
  • Please ensure that you bring all the information requested of you by the University to complete the finance and matriculation sections of enrolment and registration.

 For new students entering Level 2

  • Detailed module advice will be provided to you at the induction event on Tuesday 24th September.
  • You will be required to complete the rest of enrolment and registration by no later than the 4th October 2013.
  • Please ensure that you bring all the information requested of you by the University to complete the finance and matriculation sections of enrolment and registration.
