GAP Success in Recent NSS (National Student Survey) Results
The latest NSS survey shows excellent results for GAP in the 2012 census period.
Headline results
- Archaeology students are 100% satisfied with their course – the best result in the country, making GAP number 1 in this category.
- Both Geography and Archaeology show GAP better by up to 12% than other UK universities in all categories, and always above the average of all our comparison subjects.
- When all questions are averaged, Archaeology is the joint top of the subject in the UK.

Scores of 100% were achieved in the following categories:
- Staff are good at explaining things
- Staff have made the subject interesting
- Staff are enthusiastic about what they are teaching
- The course is intellectually stimulating
- I have received sufficient support in my studies
- Any changes to the course or teaching were communicated effectively
