Peter Jupp Bursary

The Wiles lectures 2018 will be given by Professor Alison Bashford, Research Professor of History at the University of New South Wales, Australia, on 16-19 May 2017

Her four-lecture series will be  on Trustees of Evolution: The Huxleys from Empire to World, c.1850-1950and will be held at Queen's University Belfast.

The Wiles Trustees are pleased to be able to offer this year (2018) a bursary in honour of the late Professor Peter Jupp to cover the attendance of an advanced PhD student, or someone who has recently completed a doctorate. The bursary will cover all travel, dinner and accommodation costs to attend the Wiles lectures. The holder of the bursary will be expected to attend all four lectures and contribute to the discussions. Further information may be obtained from Susan Templeton (
