Postdoc Society


Welcome to the home page of the Postdoc Society of the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences. The Society, founded in 2009, is run by Postdocs for Postdocs, so we are always eager to hear about your opinions or answer questions. The Committee holds regular meetings and we are planning to make the summaries of the meetings publicly available in the Committee section.

Our main aim is to provide a voice for the postdoctoral community within the School and to promote opportunities for career advancement, personal development and social interaction.

Our website provides information about planned and ongoing social and career events and seminars, as well as a growing collection of links to useful career and funding-related resources. We are working together with the to organize courses and career events relevant for post-doctoral researchers.

The first SMDB Postdoctoral Symposium took place on February 18 2010 and was a success. Our second SMDB postdoctoral symposium was held on Friday May 20th 2011 in the Great Hall, Queen's University with the focus on career development for postdocs.

 

 

Postdoc society 2012 AGM -Friday September 14th 2012

The AGM of the Postdoctoral Society will take place at 4.00pm on Friday 14thSeptember, in the Parlour Bar, Elmwood Avenue. All Postdoctoral staff from each of the 4 centres within the School are invited to attend. The AGM will be an opportunity to review the activities undertaken by the Society over the past year and also provide an open forum whereby further feedback and suggestions can be voiced.
