Cyberpsychology is the study of the impact of technology on human behaviour- cyberpsychologists provide insight at the intersection between humans and technology. The ‘Cyber Effect’ provides some explanatory value regarding the impact of technology on humankind; from cyber babies to cyberchondria; social technology “addictive type behaviours’ to behavioral manipulation of voters online; sexting teens to online dating, and youth hacking to the growth of organised cybercrime. Future cyber issues and trends will  be explored and a number of challenges will be considered; how do we balance competing priorities and interests in cyberspace? Are we losing control of the digital sphere? How can society ensure that technology works in our favour? Arguably what is new is not always good and technology only brings progress when we are able as a society to mitigate its most harmful effects.
