9:00AM - 5:00PM
Titanic Hotel Belfast Queen's Road, Titanic Quarter Belfast BT3 9DT Northern Ireland
The Faculty for the Psychology of Older People (FPOP) is holding a two day conference to promote developments in the work of older people and dementia services.
The aim is to bring together practitioners and interested partners from across the United Kingdom and beyond to share areas of good practice and novel developments, and promote the importance of a psychologically informed approach in working with older adults.
This year’s conference will be hosted by the Northern Ireland branch of FPOP and will be held in the Titanic Hotel Belfast. The theme is ‘Navigating the Icebergs: Celebrating the 40 year voyage of the Faculty of the Psychology of Older People’. As it is the 40th anniversary of PSIGE/FPOP it promises to be a great event.
We welcome submissions to the Faculty of the Psychology of Older People Annual Conference 2020. Submissions will be invited from across the specialties and faculties of the British Psychological Society and open to partners across the spectrum of working with older people in the public, voluntary and community sector.
The 2020 Conference themes are:
- How can we use psychological theory to support the wellbeing of older people
- How can psychologists support older people to negotiate the transitions and changes associated with aging
- Story-telling and healing, when is it safe to tell your story?
- What challenges do psychologists working with older adults experience with changes in the NHS over the past 40 years and how can they be supported
All submissions relevant to the Faculty of the Psychology of Older People theory, research, and practice, are welcome.
