Dr Salvador Alvidrez
Salvador Alvidrez is Doctor in Communication by the University of Salamanca. His research focusses on cognitive, attitudinal, and behavioral effects derived from the use of communication technologies. These effects include impression formation, attraction, and prejudice-reduction across different computer-mediated communication systems and virtual environments. Dr Alvidrez applies quantitative research methods such as experiments, content analysis, and linguistic analysis.
He is a member of the scientific board of the journal Computers in Human Behavior and is currently a member of the Mexican System of Researchers (SNI 1). He was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Davis, the Texas A&M International University and the University of Münster, and Associate Professor at the University of Monterrey. He is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow based at the School of Psychology in Queen’s University Belfast, undertaking a project on intergroup contact in virtual reality.
