Biographical Details

I graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1978 with a BA in Celtic Studies and Spanish. Following completion of a PGCE, University of Manchester, 1979, I taught modern languages in a post-primary school for 9 years. I completed a M.Ed. (Educational Psychology) and a M.SC. (Developmental & Educational Psychology) at Queen’s University, Belfast in 1987 and 1989, respectively. I have worked as an Educational Psychologist in the South Eastern Education and Library Board (SEELB) since 1990. From 1998 I have been working as a Senior Educational Psychologist in the SEELB's Behaviour Support Team. I joined the DECAP team at Queen’s University, Belfast in September 2007.

Areas of Interest

My main areas of interest within educational psychology include: Severe/Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD), Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD) and school-based consultation




Research Interests


My main research interest lies in the area of school-based consultation and its impact on behaviour management
