CSIT EXPANDS NATIONAL FOOTPRINT WITH LEVEL39 AGREEMENT

Reciprocal arrangement places world leading cyber security research at the heart of Europe's largest technology accelerator for finance, retail, cyber-security and future cities technology companies.

London, 9 February 2017: The Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT) and Level39 have signed a friendship agreement today which formalises their flourishing working relationship and sees CSIT expand its national footprint with a physical presence at the heart of the UK’s financial services industry.

The reciprocal agreement will bring CSIT’s world leading cyber security research and innovation right into the heart of the nation’s capital whilst Level39’s unparalleled stable of early stage finance, retail, cyber-security and future cities technology companies will benefit from access to the Centre’s cyber security expertise and global ecosystem partners.

Furthermore the agreement establishes a roadmap for Level39 and CSIT to collaborate on significant UK, European and Global opportunities which cut across the finance and cyber security domains, enable Level39 member companies access to CSIT’s cyber security engineering and test laboratory facilities, act as a focal point for CSIT to service its extensive member company and client base in the South East.

Finally, CSIT Labs, the world’s first cyber security incubator programme to provide free engineering resource to cohort companies, will act as a funnel for new cyber security ventures to Level39’s technology accelerator where they will be able to access investors, decision makers of key financial institutions, the world’s leading banks and consultancies tackling billion-dollar problems.

Commenting on the agreement Dr Godfrey Gaston, CSIT Director said: “CSIT has been at the forefront of spinning out and accelerating new cyber security companies since it was established in 2009. My team and I have developed a strong working relationship with Ben and the Level39 team. As the UK National Innovation and Knowledge Centre for cyber security our offer is complementary to Level39’s and the strong synergies mean that this agreement is a win/win for industry and the UK as a whole.”

Ben Brabyn, Head of Level39 said: “Our collaboration with CSIT will form a new strategic component in our offering for ambitious cyber security firms. At Level39 we currently host the largest cluster of cybersecurity technology companies in the UK – approximately 20 small, fast-growing businesses operating in threat assessment, monitoring and removal. This new alliance with CSIT complements our existing strength in this sector, and will open up new opportunities for Level39 members to access CSIT’s expert facilities, in addition to enabling greater knowledge-share between participants in CSIT Labs and Level39 members.”
