Dr Michael Bourne, QUB

Mike Bourne is Senior Lecturer in International Security Studies in the School of Politics, International Studies and Philosophy at Queen’s University Belfast. His research explores the materialities of international security through a focus on security technology, weapons proliferation, disarmament and arms control, illicit trafficking (arms, drugs etc.), prohibition regimes, new materialism and theories of security.

His publications include Understanding Security (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), and Arming Conflict: The Proliferation of Small Arms (Palgrave, 2007), as well as articles and book chapters on arms, arms control and disarmament, illicit flows, critical security studies, and cocaine in Contemporary Security Policy, Global Change Peace and Security, European Security, and the British Journal of Politics and International Relations.
