The generation, storage and distribution of data by electronic means are now core to the way public and private sector organisations communicate internally and externally. The objective of this Grand Challenge is to study threats and vulnerability of systems, develop advanced network and content monitoring / surveillance / forensics technologies and to derive new holistic methods and concepts for network and information security, information assurance and privacy. This includes the derivation of new network security architectures, policies, protocols and technologies. The aim is to define the framework and the foundation for a paradigm shift in next generation network and information security.
