Pick up point for all staff and students getting the transport bus to ECIT

Bus

  • ECIT is served regularly by bus.  Translink Metro 26B stops at the Science Park on Queen’s Road. Journey Time is approximately 10 minutes from Belfast City Centre. Further information can be found at http://www.translink.co.uk/.

 

  • For Queen’s University students and staff there is a direct bus from Queen’s Students’ Union to the ECIT building that runs a morning, lunchtime and evening service (see timetable below)

Cycling

  • ECIT is easily reached by bicycle from the city centre.  There is a cycle path along Queen’s Road and there are also on-site bicycle parking facilities.  Journey Time is approximately 10 minutes from Belfast City Centre. 

 

  • The nearest docking station for Belfast Bikes is at the Belfast Metropolitan College.  There are additional docking stations on campus outside the McClay library and the QUB Students’ Union buildings.  Further information can be found at http://www.belfastbikes.co.uk/en/belfast/.

Main Landmark: The Odyssey Arena

Approaching from the South

  • From the M1 continue onto the Westlink. Follow the signs to the M3 (City Centre/Belfast City Airport/A2). From the M3 take the Queen's Island turn off. At the cross roads with traffic lights go straight ahead. You are now on the Queen's Road. Continue past the Odyssey Arena and ECIT is exactly 1 mile from the Coach Park on your left just past the Innovation Centre. Turn into the opening for the Science Park and the ECIT building is on the right overlooking the dry dock directly opposite The Pump House.

 

From Belfast International Airport / Northwest

  • From Belfast International Airport follow the signs to the M2. After passing through Templepatrick join the Belfast bound M2. Continue towards Belfast and get into the lane marked "M3 (Belfast (E) Belfast City Airport)". As you enter Belfast continue onto the Lagan Bridge. Once on the Lagan Bridge (M3) take the Queen's Island turn off. At the cross roads with traffic lights go straight ahead. You are now on the Queen's Road. Continue past the Odyssey Arena and the ECIT building is exactly 1 mile from the Odyssey on the left just past the Innovation Centre. Turn into the opening for the Science Park and ECIT is on the right overlooking the dry dock directly opposite The Pump House.

 

From Belfast City Airport

  • From the Airport, take the Underpass towards Belfast City Centre.  You are now on the Sydenham Bypass.  (The Sydenham Bypass (A2) is also the main route into Belfast from the Ards Peninsula and North Down)
  • Exit the Sydenham Bypass at the Dee Street junction (from the right lane) and at the mini roundabout (approximately 25 metres from the junction) turn left.  You are now on the Sydenham Road.  Continue down the Sydenham Road until you reach the cross roads with traffic lights and turn right.  You are now on Queen's Road.
  • Continue past the Odyssey Arena and the ECIT building is exactly 1 mile from the Odyssey on the left just past the Innovation Centre. Turn into the opening for the Science Park and ECIT is on the rightoverlooking the dry dock directly opposite The Pump House.
