Lo' Lo' Lo' Campaign

Are you going to be on the Naughty or Nice list this Christmas?

Switch off this Christmas and see how Lo' you can go!

Win a prize for your School or Directorate by switching off as much electrical equipment as you can over the Christmas holiday period.

The period assessed will be Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 December (during the typical non-operational hours i.e. 23:00 on the 24 December to 06:00 on the 25 December). This will be compared against the average consumption for the same period during the previous three weeks in December.

The winner will be the School and Directorate that achieved the greatest percentage of reduction.

The winners will receive a £250 prize to be used to host a staff event, and be in with the chance of winning an IPad for your area.

Lo Lo Lo Big Switch off Twitter Competition

To support the ‘Lo Lo Lo’ campaign and to help get staff in the festive mood, Green at Queen’s will be running a Christmas twitter competition.

We are encouraging all Staff and students to let us know how you are preparing for this year's Big Switch off, by tweeting their Christmas themed Switch off pictures or videos to @greenatqueens using the hashtag #SwitchOffQUB.

Why not send us your Christmas jumper pictures, Elf yourself Selfies or Christmas mannequin challenges!

Don't be afraid to get your christmas jumpers on and get creative!

Spot prizes will be awarded to the best entries.

Send all you pictures and videos to carbonmanagement@qub.ac.uk or upload them on Facebook or Twitter tagging @greenatqueens.

Use some festive hashtags too #qubnaughtyornice #qublololo #qubswitchoff

Participating in the campaign can go towards B008 criteria in the Green Impact workbook.

Play Resource Centre Christmas Card Collection:

Wednesday4 – Friday 6 January

We are asking all staff to make a space or erect a box in their office to collect all the Christmas cards which you received over the holiday period. The cards which you collect will be donated to the Play Resource Centre who provide unique training and outreach programmes that support the development of children and young people through creative play.

Donating your cards means that the cards will be reused instead of recycled.

On Friday 6 January all the cards should be brought to the Admin Building Ground Floor, where a dedicated box will be found to place your collection or you can contact carbonmanagement@qub.ac.uk to arrange a collection.

You can download a Christmas Card Collection Poster
