What we are doing
- The Estates Directorate is currently in the process of developing a system that will provide information on energy consumption to Schools/Directorates. As part of this a league table will be produced which will set out how each School/Directorate is performing. To achieve this more than 300 electricity sub-meters have recently been installed. The energy league tables will be available on this webpage.
- Currently approximately 90 per cent of the University’s electricity is provided by companies that use renewable sources of energy.
- A Sustainable Development Brief ensures all new buildings or major refurbishments exceed any energy requirements set down by Building Regulations.
- A Building Energy Management System with a dedicated operator ensures that heating and ventilation are used as efficiently as possible.
