Getting to QUB

The University is located about one mile from the city centre and is easily accessible by bus, train or foot.  The main entrance to Queen’s University is on University Road and the conference itself will be held in the main Lanyon building, in the Council Chamber and adjoining Canada Room.  You can get a map of the QUB campus here.

By Air
Belfast George Best City Airport is three miles from the city centre.  A taxi to the University will cost around £10.  There is a regular Airbus service which departs from outside the terminal building every 20 mins and this terminates at the Europa Bus Station.

Belfast International Airport at Aldergrove is a 30 minute drive via the M2 motorway. A taxi to the University will cost around £30.  The Airbus service departs from outside the terminal building every 10 mins at peak times and takes you to the Europa Bus station.

If you take either of the airport shuttle buses and arrive at the Europa Bus station, you can take a taxi onwards to the University, which will cost about £4, or you can get here by bus (see below).

Belfast is easily accessed by sea crossing from Scotland (Cairnryan) and England (Liverpool) by ferry.  The main ferry operators into Belfast port are Stenaline and P&O European Ferries.

The main rail stations in Belfast are Great Victoria Street and Central.  The cross-border ‘Enterprise’ service departs and arrives at Central Station. By Bus

Services arrive and depart from the Europa Bus Centre and the Laganside Bus Centre.  There are regular bus services to the University from the Europa Bus Centre.  As you leave the Europa Bus Centre's main exit onto Great Victoria street (you will see the Europa Hotel to your left), cross the road (onto the same side of  Great Victoria Street as the Crown Bar) where you will find a number of bus stops - look for the stop for the 8 A, B and C services, all of which will go to Queen’s University.  Fares are £1.40 single.  Timetables are available at www.translink.co.uk or telephone 02890666630.
