Development Weeks Internships

Development Weeks Internships 2019

As part of the Development Weeks programme we are inviting employers to host short internships over a 1–3 week period sometime during the period of 20 May to 13 September 2019. Although we are keen to offer your opportunities across all areas we are particularly interested in opportunities for students studying for non-vocational subjects detailed in our General Information and Resource Pack or our Community,Voluntary and Social Enterprise Sector Information and Resource Pack. These may be internships covering anything from HR, communications, marketing and research to shadowing one of your managers or project co-ordinators or helping to review and update social media and news stories. There are some helpful internship role examples contained in these packs which you are free to use. We are particularly excited this year to team up with NICVA in developing a specific concentration on internships with Community, Voluntary and Social Enterprise organisations. Of course, internships within any sector are welcome.

1-3 week internships are a great way to introduce students to your organisation, possible roles and what it would be like to work with you. It is an excellent tool in the strive for the early identification of talent. There is no expectation for employers to pay the students during the internships and you are in full control of selection process. We will also provide indemnity insurance during their time with you. The key dates are shown below and our Information and Resource Pack contains our information leaflet along with a more detailed process and the example internship role descriptions.
