Travel to Belfast

Travel to and from Belfast is remarkably easy and efficient. There are many inexpensive flights connecting Belfast with most major UK cities, especially London and a range of European cities, including Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona and Prague. Plus there are extensive ferry, bus and train connections.

 There are two airports serving Belfast:
George Best Belfast City Airport is just two miles from the city centre, served by a frequent Airport Express 600 bus service to the City Centre and its main bus and rail stations.  A taxi to the Hilton will cost about £8.

Belfast International Airport is nineteen miles from Belfast at Aldergrove. The Airport Express 300 bus service, operating at 15-minute frequency during peak hours, connects with the city centre, operated by Ulsterbus. Approximate journey time 30-40 min subject to traffic conditions. Cost £7 single, £10 return.  A taxi directly from Belfast International Airport to the Hilton will cost approximately £30.

Dublin International Airport, located approximately 100 miles to the south, provides additional connections to airports throughout Europe and further afield.  An hourly Ulsterbus Goldline 200 service travels between Belfast and the airport, with a journey time of a little over two hours.  Currently it costs: single £12.15 or ca. 14 €; return £17.40 or ca. 20€. A taxi from the bus centre to the Hilton will be about £5 or fit people can take a 15 min walk.

Sea

A number of ferry operators offer services across the Irish Sea to and from Belfast Port in the centre of the city, or Larne Harbour, which is 20 miles north of Belfast. Belfast Port can be reached by bus, taxi or foot. There are bus and rail connections to Larne.
