Research

Alberto has undertaken extensive research in cost benefit analysis and in non-market valuation techniques applied to land use, cultural heritage, energy, transport, and biodiversity.  His works have appeared in peer-reviewed journals, including Environmental and Resource Economics, Ecological Economics, Environment and Planning A, Regional Science and Urban Economics, Journal of Environmental Planning and Management, Journal of Cultural Economics and at major international conferences, such as the World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists.  He has been involved in several projects under the 6th EU Framework Program, THRESHOLDS, MAXIMA, HEATCO, PICTURE, CASES, PLUREL and EXIOPOL, and has advised The World Bank, UNEP, RSPB, the City of Belfast, and the City of Venice.
