Communities, Renewables and the Low Carbon Transition Conference

A one day conference on social acceptance of renewable energy projects was organised by the MISTRAL project and the School of Natural and Built Environment at Queens University Belfast, and hosted at Parliament Buildings, Stormont, Northern Ireland. With addresses from some of the leading international experts in the field, the conference coincided with the official launch of the MISTRAL Network (Multi-sectoral approaches to Innovative Skills Training for Renewable energy and sociAL acceptance), an Innovative Training Network funded by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie action (grant number 813837). The network will nurture a new generation of researchers who seek to understand the complexity of the issues of opposition to deployment of renewable energy infrastructure and to propose a wide range of innovative solutions in research, government and business contexts.
