Day 1

The first part of the training is a centrally led day for mentors and the training will be delivered by the postgraduate centre representative.  Training will be done in conjunction with other schools and is structured as follows:

  • Mentoring in the School: an opportunity for mentors and postgraduate centre and school representative in order to agree and confirm the objectives and boudaries around mentoring.
  • Logistics: a discussion about school logistics; matching of mentors/mentees and confirmation of mentor co-ordinators.
  • Mentee Briefing: mentees can be invited to attend the last half hour of this meeting in order to receive a briefing on their role and to meet and exchange contact details with their mentor.
