Book Club & PG Voice Meeting

Monday 23rd September 13.30-15.30, Social Space, I&PSC

An opportunity to meet and get involved with both the PG Voice, which is a postgraduate E-zine run by postgrad students at Queen's, and the PG Book Club who meet once a month to discuss a *non-academic* chosen book! Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served.

Film Club at the QFT

Monday 23rd September 18.00 - 21.00 QFT

Join us for the first of what will be a monthly night to Queen's Film Theatre, QUB's own arthouse cinema. Student discount tickets are only £2 and we'll be having a drink in foyer to discuss the film afterwards. You'd be mad to miss it!

Crafternoon: Cake Decorating and Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Tuesday 24th September 14.00-16.30, Social Space, I&PSC

An afternoon of cake decorating, you can craft your cake and eat it! Plus prizes for the best buns!

Cake decorating will be followed by a Mad Hatter's Tea PartyCake eating fun in a carnival atmosphere.

Comedy Club

Tuesday 24th September 18.30 - late, Empire Music Hall

Join us for a night of laughter at the Empire's Comedy Club. Student discounted tickets are only £6.

We'll be meeting at the I&PSC at 18.30 to walk down together. Or meet us there if you know the way! This is a very popular night out so we need to be there early to grab our seats!.

Culture Vulture Breakfast

Night at The Lyric Theatre

Wednesday 25th September, 19.15 meet at I&PSC

Join us for a night at the iconic recently refurbished Lyric Theatre, Belfast on the banks of the lagan with half price tickets for Pride & Prejudice The Musical!

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, the Lyric Theatre and Cork Everyman present a sparkling new musical adaptation of this dearly loved novel. Whilst remaining faithful to the novel, Mark Dougherty’s musical score and Robin Peoples’ gorgeous and elegant set and costumes will create a delightful new setting within which the romance between Elizabeth Bennet and the proud but dashing Mr Darcy can blossom – one of the most popular and enduring love stories of classic fiction.

Photography Walking Tour

Friday 27th September, 11.30, meet at I&PSC

Get a feel for the city on our guided tour of the scenic spots.

We will be taking the train down to the Titanic Quarter to photograph some of Belfast's most iconic sights, followed by a warming coffee in The Dock cafe, Belfast's only honesty box cafe

PhD Movie

Join us in the social space for popcorn and The PHD Movie, a hilarious take on PhD life and what it'sreally like! Filmed on location at the California Institute of Technology, the movie follows four graduate students and their struggles with teaching, love and getting their research to work.

The Learning Development Service has organised a welcome event to help you make the most of your academic experience at Queen’s University Belfast.
