Summer School, June 2018

‌Queen’s University Belfast invites you to a Summer School, where you can learn more about important and interesting topics such as families, religion, crime and deviance, social inequality, ethnic diversity, politics, Brexit and more!


You will also have the chance to chat informally to staff and current students and find out about study options as you explore your interest in innovative social science topics. The Summer School is funded by the Queen’s Q-Step Centre, which is part of a UK wide programme to increase the quantitative skills of social science students.

Where? Queen's campus

When? 26-28 June 2018

26 June 2018: 9am - 4pm
27 June 2018: 9am - 4pm
28 June 2018: 9am - 2pm
Lunch and refreshments will be provided each day.


Please email Ms Zoie Watterson with the following information:

  • your year of study
  • A-level subjects/equivalent (Year 12 pupils should indicate their preferred choice)
  • the name of your school/college

Please include 200 words about why you want to join us at the summer school.



Please note that the following clarification with regards bursaries. Successful applicants are eligible to apply for a bursary of up to £200. We wish to support all our successful applicants in attending the summer school, and appreciate that they may face obstacles, for example, travel costs to/from Belfast and caring responsibilities etc. Students will be informed about how to apply and the bursary available to them in advance of the summer school. The bursary will be paid upon completion of the summer school.
