Schooling in Northern Ireland is of an excellent standard, with results at GSCE and A-level consistently being rated top in the UK. Provision at both public and independent level in and around Belfast is exemplary.
There are a number of primary schools within close proximity to Queen’s and to the city centre, notably including Stranmillis School and Sullivan School in Holywood.
At secondary level, Belfast has a number of both boarding and day schools with a long heritage in the city. These include Methodist College Belfast (Methody), a large, mixed primary and secondary school; Victoria College Belfast for Girls; St Patrick’s College; St Dominic’s Grammar School for Girls; and Campbell College for Boys.
