600 women attended 'Listening Seminars' in Summer 2000.
The findings and recommendations of these seminars were fed back to the Women's Forum, who compiled these into the 'Women's Forum Report'
QGI was launched in October 2000 with a director, an administrator and a secretary to implement the recommendations of the Women's Forum Report.
A second series of seminars ran from January to March 2004 to allow women to comment on whether the newly-implemented policies had made a difference to their lives, and on whether the University had become an organization that goes some way towards meeting their needs.
QGI publish a report based on these seminars, entitled ‘Attitudes of Female Staff at Queen’s University Belfast to the Work of the Gender Initiative and the Women’s Forum’.
