Porters appeal for your help
Head Porter Martin Mooney (L) and Deputy Head Porter Lockie Kilpatrick get ready for this year's Porters' Toy Appeal
The Porters are asking staff to show their support for this year’s Toy Appeal when it launches on 1 December.
Newly appointed Head Porter Martin Mooney and Deputy Head Porter Lockie Kilpatrick are running this year’s Appeal.
Martin said: “Queen’s staff have always given generously to the Christmas Toy Appeal and, although times are tough, we hope staff will show their support this year again.”
Toys from this year’s appeal will be given to the Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul, however, if staff know of any local charity which would benefit from receiving some of the gifts, please contact Martin on firstname.lastname@example.org
The gifts can be for any age group, up to teenagers, and can include DVDs or CDs. All gifts must be new.
Staff can leave their gifts at the Christmas tree in the Administration Building or at a number of collection points throughout the campus. These include the porters' offices at the Ashby Building, David Keir Building, Medical Biology Centre, the Royal Victoria Hospital, Elms Village and at any of the Chaplaincy Offices on Elmwood Avenue. The appeal deadline is Friday 16 December.
