LGBT Network launches new film night

Queen's LGBT Network has teamed up with QFT for a monthly film night

Queen’s LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) Staff Network has teamed up with QFT to launch a new film night. Called ‘Queer at Queen’s’, the monthly event includes a film screening followed by a networking session.

Queen’s LGBT Network, which was set up in 2008, aims to provide a forum for LGBT staff and postgraduate students to meet and discuss relevant issues. It encourages networking, provides peer support, and engages in outreach activities. It also seeks to increase interest in LGBT issues in teaching and research, and liaise with similar LGBT staff groups at other UK and Irish universities. Since its launch, the Network has received the active support of the University’s Equal Opportunities Unit which has provided funding for a number of activities.

The group is open to all self-identifying LGBT staff, post-docs and postgraduate students, and holds regular business and social meetings throughout the academic year.
