Student experience and support shortlisted for two THE Awards
The University has been shortlisted for two Times Higher Education Awards
The student experience and support offered by Queen’s has received national recognition in this year’s Times Higher Education Awards.
Now in their eighth year, the Times Higher Education Awards are a highlight of the academic calendar and a celebration of the best in UK higher education.
The University has been shortlisted in two categories - Outstanding Support for Students for its innovative Postgraduate Student Support Package and the Most Improved Student Experience.
The University’s support package for postgraduate students is delivered by the £1.3m Postgraduate Student Centre, which was created following a review of support in 2009/10.
The Centre aims to enhance and differentiate the postgraduate experience – not only through the provision of state-of-the-art facilities, but also through an innovative, holistic, effective and integrated support package. This support includes personal development programmes and a range of initiatives, including a dedicated postgraduate website, an e-zine called The Postgraduate E-voice and a Postgraduate Week which was attended by more than 1,000 postgraduate students.
A recent survey indicated more than 93% of respondents rated the Centre as excellent or very good.
The Awards will take place on 29 November 2012 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.
