Quercus is part of Queen’s University Belfast and is responsible for conducting high quality ecological research within the School of Biological Sciences. One of our main aims is to promote practical and applied collaborations between academia and other organisations, particularly Government.
Our largest collaborative venture is the Natural Heritage Research Partnership (NHRP) with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA). We provide expert advice to Government in the field of Biodiversity and Conservation Science directly linked to statutory responsibilities for nature conservation in
Quercus is also involved in many other research partnerships including academic collaborations with other Universities, national and international governmental bodies, conservation organisations, charities and commercial environmental consultants.
