1) Dr. Neil Reid, Partnership Manager
1) Natural Heritage Research Partnership, Quercus
- Co-ordinates the management of the partnership
- Ensures that all outputs are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard
- Develops a dissemination strategy and procedures manual during the lead-in period and implement actions as required
- Proactively liaises with NIEA to develop the 3 work programmes
- Facilitates and inputs into Research Cluster Advisory Group meetings
- Develops high quality specifications for research projects using appropriate scientific techniques
- Ensures that all work carried out by NHRP staff is to the highest scientific standard
- Provides monthly updates on the progress of all active projects to the NIEA Project Manager
- Ensures that quarterly reports on all projects are delivered to a high quality and to agreed deadlines
- Manages the deployment of staff in the most cost effective and efficient manner
- Ensure that all staff keep time sheets up to date
- Maintains accurate records and ensures that all documentation relating to projects is readily available to NIEA
- Manages the budget and prepares budget forecasts and profiles, as requested from NIEA
- Proactively liaises with NIEA staff on all aspects of the work
- Proactively develops partnerships with other organisations which can significantly contribute to the Natural Heritage work programmes outlined in Objective 3
- Ensures that staff comply with, and are aware of, all relevant H&S regulations
- Ensures that all relevant licences and consents have been received from NIEA prior to work commencing
- Chairs some Research Cluster Advisory Groups
- Reports to Project Board & NIEA Project Manager
- Seeks prior authorisation from Project Board before making any changes to contract conditions, delivery of objectives, outputs and programmes, timing and budgets of the overall NHRP contract and/or individual research projects

2) Emma Dorman, Project Manager
1 ) Natural Heritage Research Partnership, NIEA
- Ensures compliance with contract conditions, delivery of objectives and outputs
- Ensures that all outputs are of sufficient quality
- Ensures that the contract delivers maximum value for money
- Ensures that the research delivered through the contract meets NIEA business needs
- Disseminates research findings within NIEA
- Fosters good working relationships with NHRP staff
- Seeks opportunities to develop the partnership
- Carries out performance reviews of the contract in years 4 and 7
- A ssesses invoices for payment
- Acts as an observer at interviews for NHRP staff, as necessary
- Reports to Project Board & Senior Responsible Owner
- Chairs or attends Research Cluster Advisory Groups

3) Prof. Ian W. Montgomery, Quercus Director

- Ensures NHRP staff deliver partnership objectives and outputs
- Provides support to NHRP core staff
- May act as academic supervisor on relevant NHRP projects
- Encourages development of NHRP with external organisations
- May act as an observer at interviews for NHRP staff, as necessary
- Member of the NHRP Strategic Advisory Panel

4) Mark Wright, Senior User
1) Head of Research and Development, NIEA
- Attends NHRP Project Board meetings
- In the absence of NIEA Conservation Science Assistant Director, chairs the NHRP Project Board
- Promotes NHRP within NIEA and beyond
- Encourages the use of NHRP and linkages with other organisations/research initiatives
- Ensures broad application and relevance of NHRP to the NH R&D strategies and other appropriate Government R&D strategies and related activities
5) Prof. Christine Maggs, Senior Supplier
Head of the School of Biological Sciences, Queen’s University Belfast
- Ensures the School of Biological Sciences complies with the conditions of the NHRP contract
- Ensures the commitment of the School of Biological Sciences to NHRP required for the successful delivery of the contract
- Provides support to NHRP core staff and associated academic staff and students
- Provides overall academic supervision of NHRP projects ensuring they meet the research standards of Queen’s University Belfast
- Promotes integration of NHRP within the School of Biological Sciences
- Promotes NHRP work within Queen’s University Belfast
- Encourages development of NHRP with external organisations
- May act as an observer at interviews for NHRP staff, as necessary
- Member of the NHRP Strategic Advisory Panel
- Member of the NHRP Project Board
6) Dr. Michael Meharg, Senior Responsible Owner
1) Biodiversity Unit Assistant Director, NIEA
- Has overall responsibility for ensuring NHRP complies with contract conditions and delivers objectives and outputs
- Chairs NHRP Project Board
- Reports to NHRP Strategic Advisory Panel
- Approves budgets and invoices
- Approves any variations to the contract conditions, objectives and outputs (subject to DFP approval, as necessary)
- Approves performance reviews of the contract in years 4 and 7
