How would you describe a typical day in your current job?

Client/site meetings, project team meeting, preparing tender bids for new projects, scheduling and management of various projects, general every day management of the office.

What made you decide to study your degree subject at university?

I was always interested in some type of engineering but not sure of exact engineering discipline so civil engineering gave me a wider choice if I wanted to specialise at a later stage in my career.

What attracted you to your current job?

I always wanted to set up my own business and 5 years after graduating I decided to give it a go. I am now 18 years in my own business and I enjoy being my own boss, meeting clients, managing projects from within the office and seeing them to fruition on site.

What aspects do you find most satisfying about your current job?

Carrying out different tasks every day, no two days are the same, seeing projects to completion and delivering projects on time and budget.

How did your time at Queen's equip you with the personal and professional skills for your chosen career?

Very well, I found the degree course to be very interesting having already completed a diploma in Civil Engineering before going to Queens. Also I found being involved in clubs and societies at Queens helped me greatly in developing my personal skills.
