Judging Panel

The Judging Panel is made up of staff from across the University as well as a student representative. The Panel will assess all nominations against the award criteria.

Marion Matchett

Chair

Marion is Chair of the Judging Panel. A member of Senate, the University's Governing Body, she is a former Chief Inspector of the Education and Training Inspectorate.

Martin Mooney

Martin Mooney

Operational Representative

Martin is Head Porter, responsible for overseeing all the postal services, driving and general portering duties throughout the campus. He has worked at Queen's for 15 years.

Academic Representative

Michael is Dean of Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Chloe Dugan

Chloe Dugan

Clerical Representative

Chloe works as a Buyer in the Procurement Office within the Finance Directorate. She is responsible for the procurement activity across the three Faculties AHSS, MHLS and EPS and specialises in the procurement of laboratory equipment. Chloe was one of last year's winners at the Staff Excellence Awards.

Dr Christoph Engl

Research Representative

Christoph is a Queen's Fellow at the Institute for Global Food Security. His research interests centre around the molecular events that enable bacteria to adapt to their environment.

Patricia Reilly

Academic-Related Representative

Patricia is School Manager in the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work, and has worked at Queen's for 20 years. She was one of the winners at the inaugural Staff Excellence Awards.

Stephen McCrystall

Student Representative

Stephen is the Students' Union President. A Queen's graduate in Law, he was previously Vice President for Equality and Diversity in the Students' Union before taking up his post as President in May 2017.

Liz McLaughlin

Academic-Related Representative

Liz is Head of Queen's Sport. Her role is to encourage participation at all levels, including performance sport, recreational activity and community outreach activity.

Trevor Sewell

Trevor Sewell

Technical Representative

Trevor is the Technical Services Manager in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, responsible for laboratories, workshops and instrumentation. He has worked at Queen's for 36 years.
