Welcome to Elms Village, purpose built accommodation with undergraduate students in mind. At Elms Village, you have a choice of 1127 en suite and 505 standard single study bedrooms (standard rooms have a wash hand basin, but share a bathroom between five). The accommodation is in apartment blocks which are three floors high, each floor with 10–11 bedrooms and a shared kitchen and common room.

Elms Village is an ideal introduction to student life. There is live-in support from our team of  Residential Life Coordinators and Residential Life Assistants whose role is to help students deal with transition issues such as settling-in, making friends, managing money and sharing communal living space.

Lifestyle Options

In addition to our en suite and standard rooms you can choose a specific block in Elms Village which offers a lifestyle option. There is a limited availability for:

              • Single Sex accommodation (SS)
              • Quiet Living accommodation (QL)
              • No Alcohol accommodation (NA)

You also have the option of living with other students who have similar interests to you.

TreehouseĀ Bar and Restaurant

Offering a wide range of food and drink, this is an ideal place for you to meet your fellow residents and friends to enjoy a meal, have a drink with friends, watch Sky Sports or play a game of pool or air hockey.  Entertainment is organised throughout each week to suit all tastes, including regular quiz and music events and promotions.

MACE at Elms Village

For all your shopping needs; it also has a deli section which offers hot and cold snacks, ready meals, frozen goods and useful items such stationery.

ATM/Cash Machine

A cash machine with no charge for cash withdrawals.

Laundry

18 washers and dryers available to use for a small charge; there is also an iron and ironing board and a plasma screen TV to watch while waiting.

The Lounge

A great no-alcohol student common area equipped with soft seating, big screen TV, a computer suite which has a photocopier and printer for student use and a bank of computers to surf or use Skype. There are board games, computer games, you can watch DVDs, swap books and DVDs or just relax. Regular events also take place here in the evenings like DVD nights and poker nights.  Student clubs and societies also meet here.

Treehouse Reception

Providing hoovers (vacuum cleaners) for checkout and serves as the home of the Residential Life Coordinators. Please stop by and say hello!

              • Internet service provided throughout all Queen's accommodation. A base package includes:-
              • A dedicated 10Mb (speed not data) hardwired connection and wireless in each student bedroom

What do you NEED to bring?

All Queen's accommodation is furnished but you will need to bring some items to make it your home.  Please note that trips to local supermarkets and Ikea will be arranged during check in week therefore we don't expect you to carry everything in your luggage.  You will need to consider bringing these items:

              • Basic provisions for the first few days, until you have time to go to the shops.
              • Bed linen, including sheets, pillows and duvets or blankets (please note that you can purchase a bedding pack at reception upon your arrival for £30).
              • Crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and pots and pans.
              • A kitchen pack can be purchased at reception upon your arrival for £35.  This includes items such as saucepan, dinner plate, side plate, cereal bowl, mug, knife, fork, tea spoon, slotted spoon, tea towel, tin opener, small vegetable knife and baking tray (please note that if the bedding and kitchen pack are purchased together the total cost is £60).
              • Towels and a tea towel.
