ARK

ARK (http://www.ark.ac.uk/) was established in 2000 and is a joint initiative between Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Ulster.  ARK’s mission is to make social and political information on Northern Ireland available to the widest possible audience.  Several of ARK’s resources relate specifically to children and young people including the annual Young Life and Times survey which records the attitudes of 16 year olds in Northern Ireland and the Children’s Research database which contains a bibliography and summaries of research on children in Northern Ireland. In 2008, ARK carried out the first Kids’ Life and Times which is an annual online survey of Primary 7 children in Northern Ireland. Tables of results from the survey, along with a comic-style publication for children, can be found on the website.
