Update May 2010
The Exploring Children’s Rights SIG held its second seminar on 24 May 2010. This was a very well attended event with members from Education, ICCR, Law, Pharmacy and Psychology. The focus of the seminar was the child’s right to evidence based medicine and Dr Ahmed Hawaa from the School of Pharmacy gave a stimulating presentation on his work in the area. This was followed by interesting debate on issues relating to clinical trials, consent and children’s participation.
The next meeting of the SIG will take place at 1pm on Tuesday 29 June 2010 in Room G6, School of Education, 69-71 University Street. As this will be the last meeting of this academic year, it will be an opportunity for members to discuss current research interests and future plans for the SIG. All welcome. For further details please contact Bronagh Byrne b.byrne@qub.ac.uk
