Suhail Attar

Mr. Suhail Attar

PhD student and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Early Stage Researcher

Postgraduate Students

Mr. Suhail Attar received his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hanyang University, South Korea. He also holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, Pakistan. During his Master’s Degree he worked as a Research Assistant at the Hanyang Structures and Composites lab in the area of fatigue life prediction of composite structures. He was involved in the experimental validation of fatigue life prediction models as well as testing and manufacturing of composite structures like filament wound flywheel rotors. Mr. Attar has worked as a lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology, Islamabad, in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering and also served as Assistant Professor at the Capital University of Science and Technology Islamabad in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He joined ACRG as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Early Stage Researcher, under the ICONIC project, in May 2017. His research focus during his PhD studies is the development of sustainable energy absorbing materials for transportation applications. In this research the objective is to investigate the effect of adding nano-particles with different size, shape and orientations to different polymers, on their energy absorption capacity. Mr. Attar is also working on the characterisation of those new materials and ensuring that sustainable new materials are produced.
