President and Vice-Chancellor
In 2008 Queen's celebrates its Centenary as a university in its own right, marking 100 years as an international centre of academic excellence rooted at the heart of Northern Ireland.
The University has much to celebrate. As a member of the Russell Group of leading United Kingdom universities, Queen's has a distinguished history and is looking towards a bright future as a global player in research and education.
Queen's greatest strength has always been its people - its staff, students and graduates. Our staff are the researchers and educators who have created the University's academic reputation and motivated successive generations of students who have made their mark in many spheres of life.
The University's Centenary celebrations will be a fi tting acknowledgement both of their achievements and of our faith in the future. I very much hope that you will be able to join us during our special year.
