Prof Fusco is Director of Research, Secure Communications at Queen's University Belfast's Centre for Secure Information Technology (CSIT) and Director of Research, High Frequency Electronic Clusters Cluster at Queen's University Belfast's ECIT Institute.

Has published over 450 papers in the field of non-linear microwave circuit design and active and passive antennas. His electronic security interests include RF/microwave and mm-wave RFID tags for high value asset tracking, wireless transceivers for use in covert 60GHz frequency bands and high value assets such as microwave picket protection of parked aircraft. Current interests include ultra-fast radar systems for close in detection of projectiles and wireless communications in cluttered environments for use by emergency services. His research has contributed significantly to the local industrial base.
