Getting to Queen's

Most of our international students will arrive to Belfast by air.  There are lots of international flights that come directly to Belfast, but many of our international students will travel to Queen's via another airport in England.  To see what places you can fly to Belfast from directly check Belfast International Airport website or Belfast City Airport website.

Getting to Queen's from George Best Belfast City Airport

Belfast City Airport is only 10 kilometres from the city centre.  The easiest way to get to Queen’s University is to take a taxi.  A taxi from the airport to the University or to the City Centre is approximately £9.00.

There is also an Airlink bus service every 20 minutes from the Airport terminal to the Europa bus station.  The service, Flexibus route no 600, operates between 05.30 hrs and 21.45 hrs, and costs £2.00 for a single journey.  The halls of residence at Elms Village are about 30 minutes walking distance from the Europa Bus Centre so you are advised to take a taxi.  A taxi fare from the bus centre to Elms Village is approximately £5.00.

See the Belfast City Airport website for further information about travelling to the city centre from the City Airport.

Getting to Queen's from Dublin Airport

There is an excellent bus service which runs directly from Dublin airport to the Europa bus station on Great Victoria Street.  The bus departs from Dublin airport every hour and if you take the direct bus the journey will take around two hours.  Click here for more information about the bus service from Dublin airport.

If you are a non-EU/EEA/Swiss national you should not travel to Belfast via the Republic of Ireland.  As there is no physical border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland you will not meet with any immigration officers and, as such, you may not get permission to study in the UK and we may not be able to enrol you on your course.  If you would like more information about this, please contact us.

Note: All students who have been allocated University accommodation must go to the reception desk at the Elms Village, 78 Malone Road, Belfast.

Belfast is a harbour city, so you can also reach us by sea. If you would like to get further information about travelling to the University from Belfast harbour, please contact us.
