If you are a postgraduate student who is studying a course of 12 months or longer, or you are a government sponsored student on a course of six months or longer, your partner and children can apply for a visa to come to the UK as Tier 4 student dependants.  Your family member can find full information about applying as a Tier 4 (Dependant) on the UK Border Agency's website.
