When do I register?

You should register with the Police as quickly as possible when you arrive. You will be able to do this at Queen’s when you attend the International Welcome and Orientation programme.

Where do I register?

(1) New students: during the International Welcome and Orientation session you will be given the opportunity to register with the Police onsite at Queen's.  Check your welcome pack for information about this.  If you are unable to register with the Police during the orientation programme, you must go to a Police station to register.

(2) Existing students in the UK: you must update your police registration certificate each time you make changes to your visa or your address details.

The following local Police stations provide a Police Registration Service:

Lisburn Rd Police Station, 266 Lisburn Rd, Belfast, BT9 6GG

-          If you are registering with the Police for the first time, you will need to make an appointment by telephone.  To make an appointment, telephone 02890 650222 and ask for extension 22168 or the International Visitor Registration Office.  Appointments are available each Wednesday between 11:30am and 3:00pm.

-          If you already have a Police Registration Certificate, you do not need an appointment to update your details at Lisburn Rd Police station.

-          Opening hours are Monday to Friday 11am until 7pm.

  • Two passport sized photos;
  • A Confirmation of Attendance letter to confirm your enrolment at Queen’s (available from the Student Guidance Centre);
