Following our last Leadership In Action programmes, we asked participants the following question...

‘If there was one word that you would use to describe the event, what would it be?'

Their responses are below.

 LyP Description Wordle

What do participants like about the course?

"Excellent coaches, opportunities to role-play in group situations, insights into how to improve my own leadership skills, identification of my strengths and weaknesses as a leader"

"Focusing on leadership as a concept - relating it to personal self"

"The supportive network of staff and students.  The different teaching methods.  Having a buddy"

"The link between the theory and practice and the buddy system"

"Specific insights kept short and precise.  Activities varied and always interesting.  Plenty of breaks for refreshment.  Time for analysis after each session and at the end of each day.  Good mix of 'passive' and more active sessions"

"Balance theory/practice - personal involvement - facilitators general structure"

How did the course help students in their PhD journey?

"I understand my self better and have found that my relationship with my supervisor has changed as a result"
